Under the leadership of Founder Rodney Gustafson and newly appointed Co-artistic Director William Soleau, State Street Ballet’s 24th season ushers in an era of innovation and evolution. Featuring the spellbinding World Premiere of Chaplin, the grace and style of Ballroom, Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale in collaboration with the SB Symphony & Ensemble Theatre Company, the holiday magic of The Nutcracker, and the whimsical joy of The Jungle Book, our world-class dancers and choreographers bring you an enchanting season that will move you across the stages of Santa Barbara!
Our annual Gala returns, honoring our beloved long-time supporter Arlyn Goldsby, and benefiting State Street Ballet! Featuring cocktails in the garden, dance vignettes by our talented dancers, and a spirited live auction, our goal is to have fun while raising funds for our unique and innovative performances and programs. We hope to see you at this popular, annual event!
Our 2018-19 season will open with Chaplin, a groundbreaking full-length World Premiere based on one of the most iconic and comedic artists of the twentieth century. Three diverse choreographers (William Soleau, Edgar Zendejas, Kevin Jenkins) will join forces, promising to take the audience on a spellbinding, delightful ride into the emotional mind and creative genius that was Charlie Chaplin.
