Spring Workshop 2019

March 25 - 30, 2019 in Santa Barbara, CA

State Street Ballet’s Spring Workshop is for professional and pre-professional dancers, ages 18 and up. Focused on classical and contemporary technique, this premiere program will give attendees an opportunity to learn State Street Ballet repertoire, be a part of a new dance work, and perform for local directors and choreographers. Faculty includes State Street Ballet's Associate Director Leila Drake, Professional Track Director Megan Philipp, Education and Outreach Director Cecily Stewart, and members of the professional company. This week-long intensive is perfect for dancers wanting to refine their technique and explore new styles of choreography.

This workshop can also serve as an audition for State Street Ballet, or our year-round Professional Track Trainee Program.

Sample Schedule (M-F)

10-11:45        Ballet Technique

12-1:15          Modern/Contemporary Technique

1:15-1:45       Lunch Break

1:45 - 4          SSB Repertoire & New Choreography 

*The workshop will conclude with an informal showing for local directors and choreographers on Saturday, March 30.



The workshop will take place at our state-of-the-art home studio at The Gail Towbes Center for Dance in Santa Barbara, CA.

We do not provide housing for this workshop.
